Manchester Merriment
The town of Manchester was abuzz with six weeks of holiday charm to embrace the spirit of the season. The Community Tree Lighting in Adams Park on November 24 was filled with festive fun, including holiday tunes, an exciting visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and of course, flipping the switch on the town tree with the help of children from the Equinox Lacrosse Association The annual Holiday Inn Tours captured the history of some of Southern Vermont’s most famous inns and included stops in the towns of Manchester, Dorset, Arlington, Sunderland, and Bennington on December 1 and 8. Friends, family, colleagues, and community members gathered at the Patti Kaltsas Education, Arts & Student Center at Stratton Mountain School on Saturday, December 9 to celebrate and honor the latest recipients of The Stratton Foundation’s The Emo Henrich Award. Bill Nupp accepted the 2015 award on behalf of Sky Foulkes, Lee Romano was the recipient of the 2016 award, and Adriane and Alois Lechner proudly accepted their 2017 award. The Jingle Bell
The first weekend of December means The Jingle Bell, a signature charity event for Southwestern Vermont Health Care. Two hundred attendees, dressed in their finest holiday attire, gathered at the beautifully decorated Hermitage Club in Wilmington. The evening was filled with excitement, including a diamond-earring raffle, festive cocktails, a delectable dinner, a thrilling live auction featuring items such as a trip to Cabo San Lucas and tickets to the U.S. Open tennis tournament, and dancing to the New York Players. Ski-QX
Stratton Mountain Resort and WEQX partnered to bring the resort its first-ever alternative rock music festival this winter.
