Coming to Merck Forest and Farmland Center

RUPERT, VERMONT

On Saturday, August 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the sweet sounds of bluegrass music will roll across the meadows at Merck Forest and Farmland Center, as Bob Amos and Catamount Crossing perform.

With the release of two new critically acclaimed bluegrass CDs, Borrowed Time and Sunrise Blues, Bob Amos has assembled a talented bluegrass ensemble, featuring some of New England’s favorite acoustic musicians.

From 1988-2003 Bob Amos was the frontman, lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for the internationally acclaimed award-winning band Front Range. Bob’s current Vermont based band, Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing, is gaining a reputation as one of the hottest bluegrass bands in New England, featuring stellar vocals, rock-solid instrumentation, Bob’s top notch original material as well as unique arrangements of some bluegrass classics. Bob’s current bluegrass CD Sunrise Blues was awarded “Vermont Traditional Album of the Year” by the Rutland Times Argus (Tammie Awards). Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing band members include Bob on banjo and vocals, Bob’s daughter Sarah Amos on vocals, Freeman Corey on fiddle, Steve Wright on guitar and vocals, Gary Darling on mandolin and Chris Cruger on bass.

So bring your lawn chairs, bring a blanket, bring a picnic supper, bring the whole family … then settle in on the Sap House lawn for an evening bluegrass concert. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move inside the Sap House and rock on.

There is no admission charge, although all donations are gratefully accepted.
