We conducted an informal survey of Stratton Magazine fans regarding their favorite TV shows to stream at home—with a beer and popcorn in hand, of course.

“Netflix’s new series Ozark is dark yet alluring and has me hooked. The acting, the storyline, and the setting are all incredible and Jason Bateman stands out.”

“I love the complexity of the characters in Game of Thrones. The costumes, often with underlying symbolism, add yet another layer of meaning. The show is great at balancing crazy action sequences with important exposition and dialogue.“

Chesapeake Shores is the perfect mix of pleasant setting and low stakes drama. It’s a great watch for Hallmark Channel escapism and it stars Manchester’s own Treat Williams.”

Broadchurch is a great murder mystery that keeps you guessing about who did it and why. It takes place in a seaside town in Britain full of interesting characters and you find yourself rooting for the two detectives. The show has won a ton of awards and it’s easy to see why.”

Grace and Frankie is a drama about divorce, but the writing and characters make the show hysterical. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin play women who are flawed and at the same time you root for them.”
