Traditions

We are pleased to present our first-ever Holiday issue. In these pages we extend wishes for the coming year from a few of our spiritual leaders, and share New Year’s resolutions from some of our marketing partners. As always, we are privileged to spotlight those in the community who do good work and engage in charitable endeavors.

With the hope of easing your holiday stress we provide health and beauty advice from experts in the area and highlight the wide range of gifts that can be purchased from our local retailers. As thoughts turn to winter activities on the mountain, check out the great tips from ski school pros on how to get the youngest in your family ready for the slopes!

You are invited to our dining tables to honor the traditions of the season. We hope these pages conjure memories of a favorite recipe and its aroma just out of the oven or the annual unpacking of the family decorations handed down from generation to generation. We all love this time of year when our homes are decorated with photos of faraway friends and family, and we marvel at how the children have grown. We recall last year when a call came from the unexpected to wish us a happy new year. It is a time when we come closer together.

Over the past decade or so I have celebrated the holiday season at Stratton, combining traditions that are generations and centuries old with new traditions born from gathering with my family and closest of friends and all our children, my extended family. It’s a time of laughter and reflection and of thanks. From my family and the entire Mountain Media family, we wish you the very best healthy and happy holiday season and new year.
